Port Vale striker Lewis Haldane is still being treated in hospital after fainting following an insect bite. The former Bristol Rovers man suffered blood poisoning following the bite on his ankle, which doctors believe could have been made by a fly, a mosquito or a spider. Haldane is said to be recovering well, and boss Micky Adams said: "Lewis is getting brighter every day but he has been a lucky boy. "The situation could have potentially been a lot worse, had he not been treated an early stage. "The ankle is currently in a temporary cast while he recovers, so we are unsure when we will see him training again. We are continuing to monitor the situation and Lewis continues to take antibiotics."
