"Robin was just running in training, nothing else, when he pulled up and we could see he was suffering," the Vale boss told the club's official website.
"Obviously we took him to hospital, and X-rays revealed he has broken his foot and will now be out for six to eight weeks. It's another blow the club can ill-afford."
