Rigg told The Sentinel: "I'm expecting the loan deal to be completed later this week, and I must say I'm really happy to return.
"I'm aiming to impress until the end of the season, and if Vale offered me a permanent contract at the end of the loan spell, of course it would be something I'd consider.
"If not, hopefully I will have done well enough to attract interest from other clubs."
