Millwall too strong for Port ValeImpressive Millwall secured a 2-0 victory at Port Vale in a game they really should have won by a more convincing margin. The visitors were totally dominant in the opening stages and only tremendous defending and terrific goalkeeping kept Vale in the game.Richard Duffy made a miraculous goalline clearance from Steve Morison in the third minute and Jak Alnwick denied Ed Upson, twice, and Morison before 14 minutes had passed. The luckless Morison also headed inches wide before Vale retaliated on the stroke of half-time when Enoch Andoh's header drew an acrobatic save from Jordan Archer.Millwall were on top again after the break as Shaun Williams forced another save from Alnwick before the goal which had looked inevitable arrived in the 58th minute.Williams floated over a far post corner from the right and Mark Beevers rose to power an eight-yard header high into the centre of the net.Vale finally improved in the final quarter of the game as Andoh fired narrowly over and Sam Foley's snap shot forced a near post block from Archer. And they should have levelled in the 82nd minute when Uche Ikpeazu scooped his shot over after Ben Purkiss laid the ball into his path. But Millwall added a second in stoppage time after substitute Lee Gregory was upended by Alnwick
Gregory climbed to his feet before slamming a right-footed penalty low inside the Vale keeper's right-hand post
