James Vaughan brace earns point for Bury at Port Vale
James Vaughan's sixth goal in two games rescued a point for Bury as they drew 2-2 with Port Vale at Vale Park.
The striker, who scored four last weekend against Peterborough, twice equalised for the visitors after Tyler Walker and Ryan Taylor had put Vale ahead.
Making his debut on loan from Nottingham Forest, Walker, son of former England defender Des, took just 20 minutes to open his Vale account, unleashing a powerful strike from 20 yards out which sailed past Rob Lainton.
Bury were level after 40 minutes when Hallam Hope seized on a misplaced pass and put in a pinpoint cross for Vaughan to smash home his first of the night.
Vale were back in front in the fourth minute of first-half stoppage time when Cameron Burgess bundled over Walker in the box and Taylor buried the resulting spot-kick.
But again Bury fought back and restored parity 10 minutes into the second half when Jacob Mellis charged away on the counter, before sliding through Vaughan to fire past keeper Ryan Boot.
