Super subs Leroy Williams and Daryl Taylor earned Walsall a hard fought success against Port Vale with their first goals for the club in a stormy encounter at Bescot that saw both sides finish with ten men.
Williams, 17, fired Walsall ahead in the 82nd minute before Taylor, 18, sealed their success four minutes later.
Teenage striker Matt Fryatt had given Walsall a 12th minute lead from the penalty spot before the game exploded in the final third.
Billy Paynter went from hero to zero in the space of 20 seconds when he equalised for Vale in the 61st minute.
But Paynter was dismissed by referee Lee Probert seconds after scoring for celebrating his goal with the Vale fans. Paynter had earlier been booked for a foul.
That decision infuriated Vale boss Martin Foyle who was banished to the stands by Probert.
Walsall central defender Ian Roper followed Paynter off the pitch five minutes later for his second bookable offence.
That left Walsall coach Iffy Onuora seething and he was also sent to the stands by Probert.
As well as dismissing Paynter and Roper, Probert also handed out nine yellow cards.
Before the flurry of action by Probert, Walsall had taken the lead when Fryatt created and converted the penalty himself.
His surge into the area caught out the Vale defence and Fryatt's run was only ended by a rash challenge by Steve Rowland.
Probert had no hesitation in pointing to the spot and Fryatt converted the penalty when his shot sent Vale goalkeeper Jonathan Brain the wrong way.
Vale stepped up a gear in the second-half and Craig James saw his shot saved by Walsall goalkeeper Richard McKinney in the 48th minute before Michael Cummins hit the bar with a snap shot six minutes later.
But Vale were finally rewarded for their efforts in the 61st minute when Walsall failed to deal with a right-wing free-kick from Levi Reid.
His cross found its way to Paynter at the far post who looped a header over McKinney.
His strike looked good enough to earn Vale a point before the introduction of Taylor and Williams.
Williams regained the lead for Walsall eight minutes from time when he rifled home pass from Jorge Leitao.
Leitao turned provider again for Taylor nodding the ball into the path of the teenager who headed home from close range.
Lee Matthews then grabbed an injury-time consolation for Vale when he fired into an empty net after a mistake by McKinney.
